The New World Embassy: Rojava is a temporary embassy that will be constructed in Oslo on 26 and 27 November. It represents, through cultural means, the ideals of “stateless democracy” developed by the communities of the autonomous region of Rojava, northern-Syria. The embassy will consist of a large-scale oval shaped architectural structure, designed as an “ideological planetarium.”

From 29-31 January the sixth summit organized by the New World Summit will take place in the Aula of the Utrecht University in the Netherlands. It will bring together around thirty organizations to explore the possibilities of uncoupling the practice of democracy from the construct of the nation-state.

New World Summit–Rojava, Part I

16-17 October 2015

For the occasion of a new public parliament currently being constructed in the city of Derîk, on 16 and 17 October 2015, representatives of the Democratic Self-Administration of Rojava join in discussion with members of stateless and progressive political organizations from all over the world. The lectures and collective discussions of this summit will focus on the struggle, history, and outcomes of the Rojava Revolution and in particular its model of democratic confederalism, also known as “stateless democracy.”

Exhibition: Art of the Stateless State

27 January - 26 April 2015
Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova, Ljubljana

Art of the Stateless State will exhibit the architectural models and designs of the New World Summit as well as video documentation of several of its speakers. Further, the exhibition will give an overview of the role of art in representing unacknowledged states through contributions of artists, writers and theorists engaged in stateless political struggle.
